- ReGo Sports Therapy -
Supporting you to keep going, time and time again.

When it comes to fitness and activity we sometimes put up with those little niggles and twinges that we wish would go away. Physically and mentally they stop us from performing at our best and can lead to injury down the line, and that means time away from the activities we love doing.

If your car headlight stopped working you’d get it fixed. If the battery runs out on the TV remote you’d change it. Our bodies deserve the same immediate attention when it comes to relieving muscle tension, restoring mobility and improving flexibility.

So, whether you’re an elite athlete, a recreational sports person or you just have a few niggles from the stresses of life, it’s my goal to support you through sports massage therapy so you can ReGo with your activity time and time again with healthy muscles and soft tissues.

Feel the benefit of sports massage therapy

Sports massage is the manipulation of soft tissue like muscle, skin, tendons, ligaments and fascia to help reduce pain, tension and assist in the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries. The therapy can help correct imbalances in the soft tissue caused by strenuous and repetitive activity.

However, you don’t have to be an active sports person or athlete to benefit from sports massage therapy. If you’re experiencing tension in any part of your body that may have arrived through stress or poor posture, then manipulation and stretching of the underlying soft tissues will help you too.

Sports massage has physical, physiological, neurological and psychological effects on the body’s systems.

Physical Effects

  • Stretching the soft tissue will improve flexibility, restore mobility and maintaining healthy muscles. It's key to the prevention of injury
  • Relieves muscle tension by stimulating the nerve receptors in the skin
  • Improves the formation of scar tissue by separation of muscle fibres

Physiological Effects

  • Increases blood flow and circulation as the muscles are compressed and released
  • Increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients to soft tissue which encourages healing
  • Removes waste products and toxins via the body's lymphatic system

How you'll feel in yourself

  • Relieves pain
  • Relaxes muscles
  • Relieves tension and anxiety through a relaxing experience
  • Reinvigorates and reenergises to support continuation of physical activity

"The massage on my back and legs made me feel super refreshed for training - even helped me get a few PB’s! Mike also identified areas of tightness that I wasn’t aware of and gave me tips to try and prevent them in my day to day life. The experience was very comfortable and I can’t wait for my next one!"
